Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is the systematic and scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of maintaining good health. There are five basic strokes used during this type of massage (effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement and vibration). Swedish massage is to concentrate on the muscles and the connective tissue of the body to help improve circulation, reduce stress and soothes tired, achy muscles, but is not limited to these benefits.

Deep Tissue/ Connective Tissue

Using slow strokes, deep cross/parallel/ friction along the muscle fibers to release hypertension muscles. By physically break up the scar tissue and adhesion it helps to relieve pain and improves range of motion. This method of massage releases chronic discomfort and aches by reaching the fascia beneath the surface of the muscles. Great for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back pain, sore shoulders, decreased range of motion and sports injuries.

Medical Massage

For clients that have acute, chronic, specific pain in one general area. This treatment is perfect for the worn out workaholic. This treatment focuses on the neck, shoulders, upper back, lower back. Deep tissue massage is applied to help work the scar tissue and adhesion out of the muscles. Swedish massage is then applied to helps to soothe and relax the muscles that have been worked on.
Example: clients with low back pain, neck tightness, migraines/headaches daily or weekly.

Hot Stone Massage

Use water-heated stones to apply pressure and heat to the body. Stones coated in oil used by the therapist delivering various massaging strokes to release tension. The stones placed on key acupressure points slowly release heat to calming your mind and spirit, while cleansing toxins from your body. It's just paradise!!!

Pregnancy Massage

Very healthy and enjoyable for the mother to be and the baby. The sooner a pregnant women starts getting a massage the better. During pregnancy, the body goes through tremendous changes. Massage can help with the pain and stress and possibly even make labor easier for the mother. The nurturing touch during pregnancy massage promotes relaxation and provides emotional support. Low-risk pregnancy can receive massage and all the benefits to come with it. When a mother to be is stuck in bed for an extended period, will especially appreciate the circulation-promoting aspects of massage.
Post Partum massage is the time to deal with your bodies changes during pregnancy and changes that have gone on after birth. Regular massages (every 3-4 weeks) is very beneficial to all women. For the mother, massage helps to reduce PPD symptoms. Massage can also help with physical discomfort and symptoms, emotional stress.
